25th Annual Show Report |
|
|
On November 26th, 27th, and 28th,
the Canadian Dove Association held their 25th Annual Show &
Sale with in the Oxford Auditorium on the Woodstock, Fairgrounds as part
of the Specialty Pigeon Show. Once again we received a welcome far beyond
our expectations. There were an astonishing number of fanciers visiting
our section throughout the day. The CDA members found themselves kept very
busy answering questions about raising domestic doves and foreign pigeons.
All in all, this year’s show was another tremendous success.
There were 26 Ring Neck Doves shown in 12 different mutations; 21
Diamond Doves shown in 7 different mutations; 11 Doves were shown in the
section for Senegal Doves and Smaller in 7 species, and 5 Doves were shown
in 4 species in the section of the show for Doves Larger than Senegal
Doves.
We would like to thank
our judge Bernie Van Erp, Parkhill, Ontario, our clerk Ken Becker, the
show manager, Dave House, Innerkip, Ontario, and the auctioneer, Bernie
Van Erp. We would also like to say "Thank You" to all the
suppliers and members who donated items of interest to the auction, which
raised $116.00. Thank you for your generous support and contributions!
After the show and sale on Saturday, we gathered at the Copa-Cabana Steak
House for dinner, and the presentation of our show awards. SPECIAL AWARD WINNERS
